FAQ - Route 36

How do I book a seat on route 36?

Go to our website www.ssl.fo and click Booking in the top right corner. Complete your booking and pay by credit card. An e-mail confirmation will be sent to you when you have completed your booking.

 Can I book a return ticket?

No, you have to book two individual tickets for each trip.

Do I need to book a space?

We do recommend that you book, as these passengers have a priority to get a seat on board and it is a very popular destination.

However, it is possible to turn up without a reservation. If there still are seats available, after the passengers with reservations have boarded the boat, you can get a seat on board.

 

Do I have to be a registered user?

No, you are welcome to book without a profile and pay with a credit card.

 

Are there any advantages with being a registered user?

No, there are no advantages to being aregistered user when traveling to Mykines, as there are no discounts available on this route. However, you can see all of your bookings, when logging into your profile. Your profile can be used for booking on all of our routes.

How do I know if there are any seats available on my intended journey?

The number of available seats are listed in parenthesis next to the available journeys.

 

Is there a waiting list?

No, there is no waiting list, but you can get in the queue for passengers, that have not booked and hope for an available seat.

 

Can I cancel a booked journey?

Yes, at the bottom of your receipt there is a link where you can cancel your journey.

 

Can I change a booked journey?

The journey cannot be changed, but you can cancel it and start a new booking if there are more than 2 hours until your departure.

 

Will I be refunded if I cancel a journey?

If the journey is cancelled at least 2 hours before departure you will get a refund.

 

If I do not show up will I get a refund?

No, if you don't show up in time, you will not get a refund.

 

Will I need to show my receipt when I board?

There is a QR-code on your receipt. A member of crew will scan the QR-code. Note that if you have booked for several passengers, there is a QR-code per passenger on the receipt.

 

I haven´t received a receipt, what do I do?

Please check that the e-mail address is correct when you booked or check your spam folder.

 

I haven´t booked, can I still show up?

We recommend that you pre-book a seat on the boat since these passengers have a priority to get on board. However, if there are any seats available, you are able to board and buy your ticket on board.

 

How do I know if my booking has been registered?

You will receive a receipt by e-mail when you have booked.

 

How do I know if my booking has been cancelled?

You will receive an e-mail when you have cancelled your booking.

 

Can I pay with a discount card?

It is not possible to use your discount card for our booking system. Neither is it possible to pay with an SSL discount card when buying the ticket on board.
