How do I book a space for my car?
Go to our web-page www.ssl.fo and click Booking in the top right corner. Complete your booking and pay by credit card. An e-mail confirmation will be sent to you when you have completed your booking
Do I have to book a space?
No, you can queue in row 2 and if there are still available car spots on the car deck, after the booked cars have boarded, cars will be boarded from row 2 until the car deck is full.
Do I have to be a registered user?
No, you are welcome to pay with a credit card without being registered
Are there any advantages with being a registered user?
Yes, all registered users will receive a 15% discount if they book a car under 5 meters in length with additional passengers
How do I know if there is any space available on my intended journey?
The number of available spaces are listed in parenthesis next to the available journeys
Is there a waiting list?
No, there is no waiting list, but you can park in queue 2 on the harbor.
Can I cancel a booked journey?
Yes, at the bottom of your receipt there is a link where you can cancel your journey.
Can I change a booked journey?
The journey cannot be changed, but you can cancel it and start a new booking if there are more than 2 hours until your departure
Will I get a refund if I cancel a journey?
If the journey is cancelled at least 2 hours before departure you will be refunded.
If I do not show up will I be refunded?
No, cars that are not in the queue on time will not be refunded.
Will I need to show my receipt when I board?
You do not have to show your receipt when you board but we suggest you have it readily available, e.g. on your telephone. The crew members might want to see it in case there are any concerns about your booking.
I haven´t received a receipt, what do I do?
Please check if you have written the correct e-mail when you booked.
I haven´t booked, can I still turn up?
Yes, you can always queue in row 2 where cars will be boarded from if there is available space on the car deck.
Can another car use my booked ticket?
No, only the number plate that has booked the ticket can board the ferry.
Can additional passengers board the ferry in the car?
Yes, if you have booked for additional passengers. Children under 7 and handicap helpers do no need to purchase tickets and can board in the car. Any other passengers, that have not pre-booked, will need to walk on board and purchase their ticket.
How do I know if my booking has been registered?
You will receive a receipt by e-mail when you have booked.
I have written the wrong number plate when I booked - what do I do?
Cancel your booking at the bottom of your receipt and make a new booking.
How do I know if my booking has been cancelled?
You will receive an e-mail when you have cancelled your booking. Check your spam folder, if you have not received an e-mail.
Can I pay with a discount card?
Yes, you are welcome to pay with an SSL card. However, you cannot book your journey with an SSL card and need to park in queue 2 and you will be boarded if there available space on the car deck when the booked cars have boarded.
