Please Travel with Care and Follow the Public Guidelines
Now there is a risk of growing Corona cases we ask all our passengers to be extra careful when travelling on our busses and ferries.
Please Travel with A Face Mask
- We would like all our passengers to travel with face masks on our busses and ferries. Please use the face mask when you board, disembark and whilst you are in close proximity with other passengers and our crew.
- You can take off your face mask when you are sitting down, enjoying a meal or a drink or when you are in your own vehicle.
- You can purchase a face mask on our ships and busses.
Distance Between Passenger and Crew
- Please keep a necessary distance from other passengers and our crew.
- Passengers are forbidden from entering crew only areas such as messrooms, wheelhouses etc. Please respect these guidelines because contamination amongst our crew on busses and ferries can have vast consequences for our activity and service.
Travelling from Abroad
It is of the upmost importance that all passengers travelling to the Faroes show caution on their travel and passengers that have recently entered the Faroes must take extra care and follow the public guidelines.
- If you have just arrived from abroad and you are travelling on one of our busses and ferries you must wear a face mask, keep a safe distance and have an exceptional cleanliness.
- As soon as you´ve reached your end destination on the Faroes we recommend that you do not travel on our busses or ferries until you have received the result from your 6th day test.
- You must take special care when travelling from the airport to our harbour terminal in Tórshavn or your intended destination.
- Please remain seated on your entire journey and keep your travel between other passengers to a bare minimum.
- Please follow the guidelines from the public authorities concerning quarantine. It is strongly advised that you test yourself on the 6th day after your arrival on the Faroes.

When Travelling to Suðuroy From Abroad
If you have travelled from abroad and must self-quarantine at home, you must sit in a specific area on board Smyril. The quarantine area on board Smyril is situated on deck 6 starboard (Beinisvørð).
- Please remain seated on your entire journey and keep your travel between other passengers to a bare minimum. The crew can assist you if you need to purchase a ticket etc.
- Toilets are situated on deck 6 that is only for the usage of passengers from the quarantine area.
Please ask one of the crew if you require further assistance or information.
Please Remember Cleanliness and Distance
- Please remember your hand hygiene and wash your hands frequently. Sanitize your hands if you do not have any access to water or soap.
- Please sneeze into your sleeve – not into your hands.
- Please do not have any physical contact such as handshakes, hugs or kisses on the cheeks.
- Please take extra care when travelling in crowded areas.
- Please always keep a safe distance.
- Please remember that we can all be disease carriers even when showing no symptoms.
- Please be on the lookout for symptoms of the Corona decease.
