The closure of the ramp at Syðradalur on Kalsoy will commence on Tuesday, 10 June. The closure, which is necessary for the installation of a new and larger ramp, is expected to last approximately eight weeks.
Foot passenger transport will remain reasonably unaffected during this period, while vehicle transport will face greater challenges due to tidal conditions.
Consequently, a decision has been made to cancel all vehicle bookings, effective from 10 June and for the following eight weeks. If you have a vehicle booking within this timeframe, your bookings (vehicle and all individuals included in the same booking) have been cancelled, as a result of this. You will receive a refund for the cost of the booking.
If you wish to travel between Klaksvík and Kalsoy during this period, you can make a new booking as a foot passenger. During this time, vehicle transport will instead be organised without prior booking. Any potential changes to the ferry schedule will be displayed on the website and via the SMS service.
Strandfaraskip Landsins will arrange for adequate bus transport on Kalsoy while work on the new ramp is underway.
