Get the cheapest ticket without digital registration
Strandfaraskip Landsins wants to ensure that all our customers have easy and equal access to the lowest ticket prices. This procedure is especially intended for those customers who either do not have the possibility to use, or are unable to use, the digital booking system, but who still wish to travel at the resident fare.
Effective from Thursday, 18 September 2025
From Thursday, 18 September 2025, you can buy a ticket at the resident price on all our ferries at departure. This is possible without booking a place in advance.
How to do it:
When you buy a ticket, you only need to prove that you are a resident of the Faroe Islands. You can do this in one of the following two ways:
Show your residence certificate: You can show a residence certificate from your municipality. The certificate cannot be older than one year.
Use Skjáttan: You can show your ID card in the digital app Skjáttan.
You can pay either with cash or by card when buying the ticket.
With this new procedure, we hope to make travel even easier and more straightforward for all our passengers.
